  • Hey guys - the unions were not broken, simply limited their power of collective bargaining to $ issues rather than policy. Police and firefighters were exempted in the bill. I understand you hate the guy, but at least get some of the basics right.

  • If I remember correctly from my college days, Keynes theory was that short term deficit spending was OK, since the theory was that it would stimulate the economy, hence allowing it to "catch up" and more or less re-balance the budget.

  • Taxes are the lowest they have been in years? Is this before or after you factor in all the user taxes that are hidden from view as they are incurred in everyday transactions and bills that the average idiot pays no attention to, preferring instead to b**** about their income and/or property tax.

  • Yes, another well thought out proposal that pits those of us who live in rural America against those that live (and therefore have to drive less miles) in urban areas. Our Gov't never meet an idea it didn't like that ends up with the potential to influence (read: control) how we live our lives.

  • Elmo - I not commented on the actual dollar amount that anyone is making - you must have me confused with someone else. I am not suggesting, nor would I suggest that the large majority of teachers are overpaid.

  • Welcome to 1899, One of the major issues here is that the Union loses its ability to require (read "extort") union dues from it's members. Why is no one talking about this. In my opinion this is the elephant in the room.
